Specification guideChoose packaging around the food and the handoff.
A takeout container needs to suit what goes inside it. Describe the portion, temperature, moisture and travel conditions, then specify the matching closure and case count.
Details that prevent a packaging mismatch
Container size and food use
Include capacity or dimensions, portion size and whether the food is hot, cold, wet or dry. Any food-contact, temperature or reheating requirements must be confirmed for the exact product.
Lids and closures
Specify whether lids are attached, separate or sold in another case. Include the matching item or fit requirements. Similar capacity does not guarantee lid compatibility.
Material and claims
Tell us whether you need paper, plastic or another material. Compostability, recyclability and other environmental claims require product-specific documentation and appropriate local disposal facilities.
Case count and storage
Request the number of pieces per case and cases needed. Note shelf dimensions or storage limits if bulk packaging would be difficult to receive.
Review before approving
Your quote should identify the exact item, pack count, quantity, delivered price and expected timing. Ask us to clarify any proposed substitute before you approve. A quote request does not reserve stock or create an automatic order.
