Specification guideA label should fit the printer—and the job.
The correct label depends on more than its face size. Specify your printer, surface, environment and how long the label needs to stay in place. Add other everyday consumables to the same request when useful.
Your label specification checklist
Print method and format
Include printer make and model, direct thermal or thermal transfer requirements, label width and height, core size and roll diameter. For sheet labels, specify the sheet format and layout.
Surface and adhesive
Tell us what the label attaches to, whether the surface is dry or damp and whether removal matters. Freezer, outdoor and other demanding uses need suitable product specifications.
Quantity and layout
State labels per roll or sheet, rolls per case and total quantity. Include any need for blank stock, preprinted information, gaps or sensing marks.
Other consumables
Describe the actual item and its use rather than a broad supplies budget. Napkin dimensions, bag measurements or another clear specification makes it easier to assess a mixed request.
Review before approving
Your quote should identify the exact item, pack count, quantity, delivered price and expected timing. Ask us to clarify any proposed substitute before you approve. A quote request does not reserve stock or create an automatic order.
